I saw the email and was drawn to get in my car and see these babies ,only weanlings, on their way to the slaughter house from Premarin farms, as "baby" horse meat is sought after in some parts of the world.Aspen Valley Horse Rescue had shipped them to our valley in hope of adoptions to loving homes.Before I knew what happened I had adopted two adorable but rough looking and wild weanlings.Once they arrived at our ranch for the holidays everything changed. I think they knew they would be loved forever. Their sweet loving nature has been a joy in my life.Here I was doing something special for them and the result was a gift to me every day that I could never have anticipated.Soft, sweet, loving Lucky Boy and Belle are now 2 years old.Pictured below see how the gift of giving  love gives back. I delivered him at our ranch and we have a beautiful connection. He and I plan to show in amateur hunters but he is a total joy to ride on the trail too.  Feather’s Heir is the Grandson of my very first horse and I delivered him at Dopkin Ranch out of my magnificent 5 gaited champion Sultan’s Lady Aspen his sire Chabasco was the number one stallion in the country for producing show horses. Heir is an incredible mover. He loves to jump and ride the trails, and is now training in beginning dressage with me so we can do a little “dancing together”.
